2/20/1962 USS Noa" Prime Recovery Ship Cover
franked by a 4c Project Mercury stamp and with a blue/red printed cachet. This is the back dated version of this recovery cover. The 4c Project Mercury stamp was only issued when the flight was successful and after the ship was already at sea. The stamp couldn't have been available onboard until after the ship returned to port several days after the flight. The cover makes a nice addition (and story) in any collection. ALSO a "John Glenn Autograph" on a Homecoming cover with a New Concord, Ohio 3 March cancel. An attractive pair.
