Letter dated April 18, 1865, Washington. 1 ˝ pgs, with original transmittal stamped cover. Wife writes of her husbands death at Petersburg battle, and also writes: "Our city is draped in black for our dear President…Great excitement". written only 3 days after Lincoln death. Fine.
