(1896 - 1993) American aviator who gained fame both as a racing pilot and as leader of the first air raid on Tokyo during World War II. Commemorative postal cover picturing Doolittle on the face, bears a Navy cancel of Aug. 14, 1945 and nicely signed in blue ink.
