Fine example of a 19th century whaling harpoon gun. Stamped APR 1882 on brass firing mechanisms, 78" in length with period rope attached, complete with iron darting gun, projectile and firing rod. Some insect damage to handle. Ex-Barbara Johnson Whaling Collection, sold through Sotheby's 1981-1983.
