Two page (each blank on reverse) letter with fine autograph signature of ABRAHAM HYMAN FROMENSON noted editor, publicist and Zionist leader (born Chicago 1874); prominent figure in Anglo-Jewish journalism and communal life. From N.Y. to Mayer Sulzberger, then president of J.P.S. (undated; circa 1905). It opens: "with the consent of Miss Szold am writing to advise I have submitted to her a manuscript for the J.P.S. Anxious for a quick decision [because] it was written in the form of a drama and has been submitted to the 'NEW THEATRE.' an earlier draft of the same play was returned to me by John Corbin, literary director [who wrote] 'we were strongly tempted to give it a production…exceedingly well written.' …Very sanguine that play will be produced next season…would be easy to have it brought out in book-form by a commercial publisher…await decision of J.P.S. [believe they should do it] because play is post-biblical Jewish life…publication by J.P.S. would be appropriate…" Exc.+ (with fine bio sketch of Fromenson)……
