Last will and testament of Hancock Taylor (b. 1781 - d. 1841), older brother of President Zachary Taylor. This will comes from Justice of the United States Supreme Court John McLean's estate. The Taylor family married into the McLean family. Hancock Taylor's second child Mildred Jane Taylor married Justice McLean's son John. This will, being 3 pgs., is dated October 10, 1840. The will spells out Hancock's last wishes for all his worldly property. Includes leaving land to his wife and children, and stating that "the following named persons I wish to act as my executors, to wit, my bros. J. P. and Zachary Taylor". At the end of the document it reads "Signed 10th October 1840 Hancock Taylor". A fine Taylor family document.
