Painting symbolized the fairy tale by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, The Little Mermaid, awaiting her prince in the Copenhagen Harbor, oil on board, signed "Karl Larsen" in lower right. 33.5" h x 31.5" w, framed.
Condition: good
The sculpture was a gift to the city from Carl Jacobson of Carlsberg Breweries, the bronze was by the sculptor Edvard Erichsen and was unveiled in 1913.
