Carpenter-Signed Mercury Flight Manual

"Project Mercury Capsule Flight Operations Manual", Autographed by Scott Carpenter
(SEDR 109, 1 December 1960, blue vinyl cover, 3-ring binder). An outstanding artifact from the Mercury program, this binder was carried by Carpenter on his flight. The chapters in the manual are titled "Normal Procedures", "Emergency Procedures", and "Trouble Shooting". Consignor has noted on the title page that he was given this manual by Carpenter "after his flight on May 24, '62". The consignor recently saw Carpenter again and showed him the manual. Scott then inscribed on the contents page "You saved this! Good! Scott Carpenter, Feb. 25. '03". Vinyl cracked along the metal rings and minor faults, otherwise, this lot is in good condition for such an important artifact. Rare.
