James A. Garfield CDV Mounted On Old Advertising Card

This unusual CDV Photograph of our 20th President, who is facing to the right, has a printed label below the photograph "Jas. A. Garfield." What is unusual is the other side of the card. Normally the back of the card is blank or has advertising for the publisher. In this case, an advertising card from the A. S. Burke general store in Skowhegan, Maine has been cut down to an appropriate size (4" x 2.5") on which to mount the photograph. Both the card and the photograph are in very nice condition, with no folds, tears, chips or foxing. A very nice photograph labeled photograph, ideal for enhancing an exhibit, book or article.
