Attributed to the Cheyenne. Distinctive characteristics include sawtooth edge around the upper edge and short "trail dusters" at each heel. Nice beading including a good "greasy yellow". Good condition, minor bead loss to each. Clear sign of having been worn a considerable amount. 9.75 inches in length.
Condition reportA copy of a 1983 letter with this group of American Indian items offers a provenenace of this item having been collected by the wife of R.A. Hutchison who was superintendent of various reservations and later with the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
