HARDING, Warren Gamaliel (1865-1923) was an American politician, and the twenty-ninth President of the United States, serving from 1921 to 1923, his term ending as he died from a heart attack at age 57. A Republican from Ohio, Harding was an influential newspaper publisher. He served in the Ohio Senate (1899-1903) and later as Lieutenant Governor of Ohio (1903-1905) and as a U.S. Senator (1915-1921).Typed Letter Signed, "Warren G. Harding" 1p. small quarto, on The White House stationary, September 12, 1922, addressed to a Mr. Velasquez, and reads: "I am grateful to you for your message of September 11th. It has been comforting and encouraging to know of the interest and good wishes which your message conveyed..." VG. Framed with a beautiful contemporary bronze medal in art nouveau style by Morgan that commemorates the inauguration of Warren G. Harding as the 29th President of the United States of America in 1921 and his death in office three years later, and an engraving of him. VG.
