Interior cottage scene of a man standing next to a family sitting at a table with a boy handing a card with writing on it to an elderly gentelman as a squirrel seraches for food, signed in the picture in the boy's hand and in a shadow under the upside down nail sticking out, 14"H x "19.75"W. There is craquelure throughout the painting and the wood panel has split and there was restoration work down to the painting joining it back together. Also, there are two small spots near the table where the paint has chipped off. There is a J. M. Hill established 1750 label and a partial label, signed J. Steen and wrote "Signed J.Steen,on the picture, the shadow of upside nail and once on the card in the boys hand."
