Bei Düsseldorf - 1967. Printed 1987. Gelatin silver print on Agfa paper. 21 x 31 cm (30,5 x 40,5 cm). Signed, dated and titled in pencil as well as photographer's copyright stamp on the verso.
The photographer Volker Krämer became internationally acclaimed for his dramatic pictures of the invasion of Soviet troops of Prag in 1968. At that time he photographed for the Rheinische Post, Düsseldorf. Already one year later Henry Nannen recruited him for Stern magazine where Krämer worked for nearly three decades until his death. In 1999 he went to Kossovo to report on the invasion of the KFOR troops and was murdered by a sniper. In honour of Volker Krämer Stern magazine published a portfolio (Nr.19) in 2000, which gives a profile of his life's work. - A fine print in excellent condition.
