oil on cradled canvas of an infant in white dress and lace bonnet sitting in a red chair with a rose in her lap, not visibly signed, labeled verso Miss Susan Plessner Pollack of Washington, D.C. as baby, painted in Paris in 1850's" and "Miss" Susan Plessner Pollock, kindergarten founder with her mother Mrs. Louise P. Pollock, painted in Paris in 1850's. Gilt framed in the oval, 36 1/2" high, 29" wide. Susan Plessner Pollock was the daughter of George Henry Pollock married in" Dresden in 1850 to Louise Caroline Frederica Augusta Victoria Wilhelmina von Pless. The painting has descended in the family till now.
