Massachusetts State. October 18, 1776. Four Pence. Paul Revere Engraved "Codfish" Issue. About Extremely Fine.
Fr. MA-224. This note has four full margins and pleasing quality. The 1776 issue is far more rare than the second "Codfish" issue of 1778. The signature of Thomas Ivers is written in brown ink at bottom and all of the text and designs are very clear and sharp. A nice, collectable Paul Revere engraved note, date in the historic year of our nation's independence.
