Scarce March 6, 1776 Twenty Five Pounds Note

South Carolina. March 6, 1776. "Live Tree and Fallen Tree" vignette. Twenty Five Pounds. Choice Fine.
Fr. SC-126. This is a larger format size note, in a high denomination that is well centered and has an even, circulated appearance. The printing is clear and all text and the vignette are full. There are some typical period notations on the blank reverse and it has a sealed centerfold edge split at top. Only 5,200 notes were authorized to be printed in 1776.
