South Carolina. April 10, 1778. Five Shillings. "Phoenix" Vignette. Gem Crisp Uncirculated.
Fr. SC-147. This is a crisp, beautiful note that has four full margins and choice centering. The paper remains fresh, crisp and fully original, the watermarks and laid lines are clearly seen within the paper when held to a light. Both signatures are written in rich brown ink and the black printed text and "Phoenix" vignette are nice and clear. Each corner tip is sharp and the edges perfectly straight. This is one of the finest and most exciting examples of this denomination we have offered.
