Scarce Adam's & Co. 25¢ Cardboard Money

Ca.1854, Adams & Co.'s Express, 25¢, Cardboard Chit Money, Superb Mint.
An interesting stamp size cardboard chit that circulated as a token. Due to style and size, they are listed in the Scott's Stamp catalogues with private local issuers as Scott 1L3. Printed on uniface, light pink cardboard in black. At the center is portait D. H. Haskell, company manager with titles around. These have been collected with Fractional Currency (see the O'Mara and Milt Friedberg sales). A sharp piece in Gem grade.
