Philadelphia, PA, The Manual Labor Banking House, $1 Post Note, India Paper Proof.
Haxby PA-445 G50. PRF-R6. A rare One Day Post Note proof from this prolific issuer. The types and varieties of this late 1830s institution have been the study of several obsolete currency specialists. At the bottom center is a custom glass blowing scene with the dominant white suited gentlemen with a great resemblance to the great "Elvis" himself! The portrait at the left is Franklin and at the right is Dr. Dyott whose glass works was quite famous. Fresh and bright. A sharp proof.
