Philadelphia, PA, The Philadelphia Savings Institution, $1, India Paper Proof on Card, Superb Gem.
Haxby PA-Not Listed. Hoober 305-540. PRF-R6. A rarer issuer in the 1837 era of Philadelphia private banks. This proof is bright white with the curved title having a bowl effect for the cherubs above. At the left is a stern Athena, but holding an American shield. A top position proof with premium quality and beauty combined. Only the second example we have handled.
