Rare Original 1805 Horatio Nelson Memorial Medal

1805, Horatio Nelson Memorial Medal. By Thomas Webb. London. Struck in Bronze. Extremely Fine.
Rare, original, 2 1/8" in diameter 1805 British Medal struck to Commemorate the Death of Lord Nelson at Trafalgar. It features on the front head image of Nelson, facing left and the words "Hor Vicecom Nelson Ob Patriam Pugnando Mort Oct. XXI MDCCCV" (Lord Nelson Died Fighting for his Country 21, 1805). The reverse features a beautiful image of a winged goddess walking on the sea while a sailing ship is buffeted by waves in the background. The reverse the top "Ipse Belli Fulmen". This medal was designed by Thomas Webb and is signed on the bust portrait "W" in script. We do not numerical designation assigned to this medal. This beautiful, 1805 British Historical Medal is in excellent, original condition - with very light wear to the highest some "dings" around the rim.
