"Winfield Scott" MI-20 United States Mint Military Medal

1814-Dated. Winfield Scott Military Medal. MI-20. Struck at the United States Mint at Philadelphia in Bronze. NGC graded Mint State-64 Brown.
Julian MI-20. 65.1mm. This impressive medal is struck in rich, mahogany-red bronze, indicating it to be an early original striking. It has pleasing, smooth, hard surfaces with just a tiny surface flake in the top reverse field. Dies engraved by Moritz Furst. The reverse features a snake biting its own tail. Standard in the Series of 1812 Congressional medals. This lovely medal will interest both numismatics and exonumists alike. The last example of this medal we offered was in our EAHA Auction, October 21, 2006, Lot 738, graded raw Ch. MS, and selling for $796.

Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
