Rare 1867 Andrew Johnson Presidential Medal J-PR-13 1867-Dated. Andrew Johnson Presidential Medal. Struck at the United States Mint at Philadelphia in Bronze, NGC graded Mint State-64. Julian PR-13. 76 mm. This impressive medal was struck at the United States Mint from the Original dies. It has lovely, glossy smooth hard medium brown surfaces and overall color. This finest and only the second example we've offered and by far the finest in quality. The last being in our EAHA Auction of April 3, 1999, Lot 616, graded Choice Uncirculated, selling for $920 about a decade ago. One trivial, tiny reverse bottom rim tick from Gem. This medal honors Andrew Johnson's magnanimity in dealing with the defeated Southern States, a policy for which he was impeached in 1868! This medal is accompanied by its NGC Photo Certificate. Early American will accept payment by check or credit card. ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
