Contemporary "Knockoff" of the Woodruff & Binns Circa 1820 Style of The Declaration of Independence (DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE). Contemporary c. 1820-30 Styled Early Reproduction or "Knockoff" of the William Woodruff & Thomas Binns Style Originals Printed Broadsides, on its original hanger dowels, Very Good. This is a very early, contemporary decorative printed Declaration of Independence in the style of the William Woodruff & Thomas Binns designs. This 27.5" x 20.5" decorative Broadside is presented in a somewhat less refined engraved print on paper, that has been laid down onto a backing cloth for support and attached to two black painted dowels at top and bottom for hanging on display. This print is colored in faded red and green, with black printed text and designs. It has seen many years of display as it is evenly faded and rough at the outer edges. There are a couple of tears at the right edge that do not come close to, or affect, the printed designs. At bottom there is a 5" x 2" area of water stain that tends to blend. There is wear and creases from nearly two centuries on display. A rare hanging Broadside print of The Declaration of Independence, and the first of this type we have seen. Extremely rare.
