RUTHERFORD B. HAYES, 19th President of the United States.
March 27, 1871, Document Signed "R B Hayes" as Governor of Ohio, Columbus, measuring 9.5" x 7.75", Very Fine. This document is also signed by the secretary of state, but there is no other text, so perhaps this was a cover sheet. The document has a large gold foil state seal to the left of Hayes's signature, and a large, attractive vignette tops the document. There is light overall toning; some offset at the bottom and of the seal at top, and slight mounting remnants on the back.
