General William Heath Revolutionary War Document WILLIAM HEATH, Revolutionary War Major-General acting under Commanding General George Washington. October 6, 1777, Manuscript Document Signed, W[illiam] Heath NY, on fine-laid paper, Headquarters, Boston, 8.5" x 7.25," Very Good. To "Ebenezer Hancock Esqr. Deputy Pay Master General to the Forces of the United States of America," a pay warrant for "Messrs. John Skinner, Samuel Allyne, and Joseph Wadsworth" for expenses incurred while "Escorting Ebzr. Hancock Esqr. with a large sum of money from Connecticut to Boston..." Lovely brown-inked writing on this worn and aged document. At bottom left appears: "By His Honors Command," and a signature beneath, "Seth Loring, Secry." The expenses are outlined on verso; receipt of payment and docketing information are on an adjoining page. Large hole in body of warrant, chipping and absences along right spine, and separated at fold. Heavy brown toning down right edge affects signature, but it is easily legible. Heath was the last surviving major-general of the Revolution. Here's your opportunity to collect a Revolutionary War-date signature by an American general on a document delivered from his Boston headquarters. Early American will accept payment by check or credit card. ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
