RICHARD RUSH, Secretary of Treasury and Secretary of State.

c.1860, Clipped Signature, "Richard Rush", Brown Ink, laid down on the title page of a book entitled, Occasional Productions: Political, Diplomatic and Miscellaneous, book measures 9.50" x 6", 520 plus pages, Very Fine. The signature is strong and clearly written. There is also a very distinguished, engraved portrait image facing the title page. These important words are found on the title page, "by the late Richard Rush, edited by his executors, with a copious index." The executors included a detailed, 25 page introduction as a tribute to Rush. The book has a sturdy brown cover with slight water stains and some discoloration. There is a stiffness in page movement, from the binding, beginning around page 301. The outer edges of the fabric are frayed along the edges. It is well preserved and an interesting read from an insider's perspective.
