George Washington Inaugural Button Heraldic Eagle with "E Pluribus Unum"

(1789), George Washington Inaugural Button, Large American Heraldic Eagle with "E Pluribus Unum" on Banner, Albert WI-2, Extremely Rare, About Fine.
Rarity-6; 35 mm. This distinctive design is all incuse, except for the inscription on the banner. This piece has been buried and cleaned. It is thinner than usual, perhaps due to metal loss from being buried. It also has some distinct cuts, probably made during excavation. This piece now exhibits micro-porosity and a dark brown color. The shank is missing. This extremely rare type is not listed in Cobb's catalog of Washington Buttons, nor was it in his collection, sold at auction in 2005.

Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
