Abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison CDV, Extremely Fine.
Garrison (1805-79) an abolitionist and journalist, founded the American Anti-slavery Society in 1833. Although his violent and self-righteous reputation was known to work against him, he also supported female suffrage, the abolition of capital punishment, and prohibition. A beautiful carte, no credit on verso, tremendous contrast and detail.
