First Ten Presidents of the United States

c. 1842, Engraved Print entitled, "Presidents of the United States," from George Washington though John Tyler, by Thomas Illman, Fine.
This original engraved print shows the first ten Presidents of the United States from George Washington through John Tyler, measuring 15.0 "x 10.75" with its full margins present. President George Washington's picture is centered within an elaborately decorated, circular design and surrounded by images of the nine Presidents that succeeded him including up through John Tyler. Inscribed directly below the image of George Washington, near the bottom edge of the print, is a list of the first ten Presidents of the United States, by name, along with the corresponding years each one served. There is some faint typical overall tone, a slight wrinkle to the central right edge, plus one small nearly invisible 1/2" tear at the extreme bottom edge that is reinforced on the blank reverse with clear tape and some internal splits (that does not disturb the integrity of the print) which are invisible on the face side. Overall, a very appealing image with a wonderful, very early design for Washington's portrait.
