William Henry Harrison Silk Mourning Ribbon

1841 William Henry Harrison Memorial Ribbon, Choice Mint.
7.25" x 3" cream-colored silk ribbon with black printing: "OUR NATION MOURNS A HERO GONE." Central image of a small framed oval bust of Harrison, flanked by a stand of draped flags, an hourglass, and a large weeping willow branch and surmounted by an urn inscribed "HARRISON." Bounded by black mourning bars at top and bottom; Text at bottom reads: GENL. WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON / Born at Berkley, Virginia, Feby. 9th, 1773. / Inaugurated President of the United States, March 4th, 1841. Died April 4th, 1841, AGED 68 YEARS, 1 MO. 15 DAYS. / The melancholy occasion, solemnized at New York. / APRIL 10TH, 1841." Harrison was the first president to die in office, and the sad occasion was commemorated with an outpouring of silk mourning ribbons. Excellent quality to this example, with only penciled lettering on the back of the top margin--not affecting the image on the front in the slightest.
