Rare circa 1875 "Dakotas" 39-Star American Flag

c. 1875, 39-Star American Flag, Printed Cotton, Extremely Fine.
This rare flag measures 18" x 30" and is boldly printed on white cotton. The canton sits on a "war" stripe. This is a very rare and "unofficial" flag. In the 1875-76 period the Dakotas were first thought to be entered as one state within the Union. This flag was likely produced during that time frame. Ultimately, the Dakotas actually became two separate states in 1889. This flag has a rare configuration and pattern. It is in excellent overall condition with some light scattered tone and red ink run being the only noticeable issue. A most historic American Flag.

Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
