Early American Painted Wooden Wagon Canteen

c. 1830, Wooden Canteen, Extremely Fine.
Oval wooden canteen, with grooved, "small keg" design, absent wooden plug or cork. Canteen is 6.5" in diameter, 4" thick, with 100% original dark green paint. The paint covers all of the canteen, which is of "museum quality." A beautiful example from the early 19th century--most likely produced for home or wagon use--with some minor warping to one side of canteen, and some expected paint aging, otherwise perfect!
