1860, Impressive "Prince of Wales" Silk Printed Textile. 17.25" x 16", black on toned white, Very Fine. Featuring Albert Edward, eldest son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Explanatory column on each side, and a decorative border around all. Produced by Henry Bowen's Chemical Print of Boston to commemorate the prince's visit to America in 1860. The handsome young prince is in uniform; he holds his hat in his right hand and his sword in his left. This was the first visit paid by a Prince of Wales to America. Some slight fabric loss outside decorative border from once being nailed on display; one trivial small stain area in the outer border. A very nice appearing piece suitable for framing and display.
