American Heraldic Shield Breasted Eagle Watercolor

Mid-to-Late 19th Century, American Watercolor Painting of a Patriotic Heraldic Eagle, Choice Extremely Fine.
This magnificent watercolor depicts an American Eagle, spread-winged, clutching olive and oak branches and arrows in its talons, with a red ribbon scrolled below and clouds with rays of the sun in background. It is unsigned, but we can approximate the age of this fabulous painting by its style and paper--which both suggest it was created around the mid-19th century. The decorative painting is matted to an overall size of 12" x 10.5", and is an outstanding display item.
