(Flown???) Apollo 11 Cover
This cover is a mystery waiting to be solved. We are fairly sure that this cover is NOT GENUINE and is therefore being sold AS REFERENCE only. The A-76 and "Carried to the Moon on Apollo 11" markings appear to be TRACED or written over and the "DELAYED" handstamp, while genuine, appears to be over inked, a sign that it was not originally applied. HOWEVER, the cover is cancelled by a "WEBSTER, TX, Aug 11, 1969, 1AM" machine cancel as were the genuine, flown covers. We can't understand how the cover could have been cancelled with the correct Webster cds and not be genuine. Anyway, this is for the successful buyer to solve. We can say that, despite extensive light tropical foxing, the cover is in great overall condition and would make a great addition to any Apollo 11 collection.
