Anonymous (Compiled by a Royal Canadian Airforce Officer) ww2 photograph album featuring scenes of london, 1945 Two-hundred and eighty-six gelatin silver photographs in an album of 39 pages, printed 1941-45, features 8 of VE celebrations in Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Winston Churchill, the King and Queen and Princess Elizabeth, 8 of a Bob Hope show for American & Canadian forces at the Royal Albert Hall, July 4th 1945, 6 of Petticoat Lane, many of Hampstead Heath, Central London street scenes including Liberty, V-2 damaged Selfridges, buzz-bombed Knightsbridge, Piccadilly Circus and photographs of Oxford and the West Country. Also includes 5 gelatin silver prints, printed 1939-40, stamped on verso International News Photos, New York with typed annotation adhered to each verso. Illustrated image reads Men clear and salvage air-raid wreckage in London, Oct.30, 1940 as a result of the Battle of Britain which is considered history's greatest air battle, includes Associated Press article dated 1990 illustrated with the image, taped to verso.(291)ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
