Pierre Dubreuil (1872-1944) untitled (ship in harbour), c.1925 Gelatin silver print, printed c.1925, signed and titled in black ink, annotated in pencil and stamped on verso, 38.5 x 28 cm (15 x 11 in.). Pierre Dubreuil was an influential figure in the development of "New Photography", which emphasized design and idea rather than content. His career culminated in 1935 with a Royal Photographic Society retrospective in London. IMPORTANT: This lot has been imported from outside the EU to be sold at auction under temporary importation, and therefore the buyer must pay the import VAT at a rate of 5% on the hammer price and 17.5% on the buyer's premium.
