Fitzgibbon (Edward), "Ephemera". The Book of the Salmon...
Assisted by Andrew Young, first edition, hand-coloured frontispiece and 8 plates, including 1 black and white plate, 2 pp. advertisement at end, light marginal browning, Major H. O. Peacock's bookplate on front free endpaper, original cloth, very slightly marked, rebacked preserving original spine, preserved in handsome modern red morocco drop-back box by David Weinstein, [Westwood and Satchell, p.86], 8vo, Longman, Brown, Green and Longmans, 1850.

***The author was assisted in this work by Andrew Young of Onvershin, manager of the Duke of Sutherland's salmon fisheries. This ranks alongside Blacker and Jones as foremost as far as hand-coloured plates depicting salmon flies are concerned. The colour plates also show salmon at various stages of their life. Westwood and Satchell refer to it as 'highly esteemed'..
