one of 8 large paper copies, 20 engraved plates, some by Thomas Gosden, in proof form mounted on india paper, some foxing, mainly to plates, contemporary calf, gilt, g.e., rebacked with original spine laid down, repaired, gilt inner dentelles, thick marbled endpapers, silk sewn-in bookmark, slightly rubbed, [W&S p.245; see Oliver pp.65-66, Coigney 405 and Heckscher #2203; Heckscher states 'Eight copies of this edition dated 1823 were on large[est] paper, with proof plates on India paper...this and another in the Dean Sage Library, are the only copies known to the compiler.'], 4to, 1823.
