title and 30 plates of ornately ornamented rural architecture, mostly residential houses, some coaching inns and public offices, most of wood construction, some in stone or brick, also designs for fencing, well-heads, joinery, and some ground plans, lithographs, each c.235 x 400mm., some dampstaining and fingersoiling in upper and lower margins, minor handling creases, printed green title wrapper bound in at front, this bearing contemporary owner's ink inscription, in contemporary cloth-backed boards, worn, oblong folio, St Petersburg, 1851.

***Count Petr Andreevich Kleinmikhel (1793-1869), was a distinguished army officer and hads been adjutant to Csar Alexander I. He was appointed to a succession of administrative posts, and from 1842 to 1855 served as Chief Director of Transport and Public Housing, in which capacity he authorised this program of public architecture..
