Schranz (Joseph) Panorama du Bosphore, du Sérail Bournou jusqu'au Mont Géant, pris de Idjadiè Kiosk en Asie; Panorama du Bosphore depuis l'entrée de la Mer Noire jusqu'au Village de Kandilli, pris de Mont Géant en Asie, 2 spectacular elevated panoramas of the Bosphorus, tinted lithographs printed by Jacomme et Cie, Paris, with hand-colouring, each panorama on 4 sheets, unjoined, each sheet c.485 x 625mm., each panorama c.440 x 2240mm. if joined, slight surface dirt to margins, a few short tears at sheet edges, all well outside the image, the set of 8 sheets preserved in a modern, green leather-backed, green satin cloth box, gilt-lettered rexine label to upper board, a little rubbed, oblong folio, [Atabey 1103; Blackmer 1504; not in Abbey or BLC], Constantinople, J. Missiriè [& J. Schranz], c.1855(2)***These two panoramas were jointly issued, originally in a single printed wrapper bearing the title Panorama du Bosphore de la Mer Noire jusqu'à la Mer de Marmara. On this, J. Missiriè was recorded as the original publisher in collaboration with Schranz. However, on all 8 plates the imprint of J. Missiriè appears to have been added to the lower right corner, so may indicate his own later issue, although both Blackmer and Atabey are only aware of one..
