***Dating from the latter part of his long sojourn in Paris, when Thomas Shotter Boys came heavily under the influence of Bonington, before he returned to London in 1837, this work was a precursor to his better known productions, Picturesque Architecture in Paris, Ghent, Antwerp, Rouen (1839), and London As It Is (1842).
