of sarcophagus form, the intricately arabesque hinged top having malachite cabochon medallions; lapis lazuli set "ribbons" extend to the four corners anchored by griffon heads studded with pink sapphires. The bombe, lobed body further embellished with malachite and lapis cabochons. The top opening to reveal a blue velvet lined interior. Engraved to the interior, "S. Wertheimer 33 New Bond St. By Special Appointment to the Queen". The Wertheimers were renowned art dealers in London. 9"H x 11.5"W x 9"D, Circa - Last quarter 19th C.
