FINE BELL FAMILY, STRASBURG, VA ATTRIBUTED POLYCHROME-GLAZED EARTHENWARE SPANIEL FIGURE, hollow well-molded Staffordshire form in a seated position with closed legs, dramatic carved and punched decorations enhancing the ears and tail, outlining the eyes, and designating the collar and chain, closed base with a 1" diameter center hole, additional 1/2" diameter firing hole in reverse. Probably S. Bell & Son or R. F. Bell, Strasburg, VA. Fourth quarter 19th century. 8 1/2" h, 4 1/2" x 6 1/4" base
