HAGERSTOWN, MD ATTRIBUTED DECORATED AND INSCRIBED LEAD-GLAZED EARTHENWARE JUG, ovoid form with wide mouth, double-ridge handle with thumbprint lower terminal, and slight foot, brushed manganese script "Molasses Jare / to keep Flyes out" around body, additional manganese dot decoration all over. Found in Taneytown, Carroll Co., MD. First half 19th century. 7 1/2" h, 3" dia rim
