RARE KENTUCKY SILVER PUNCH LADLE, SAMUEL AYRES & NOAH HAYDON (C. 1811-1813), LEXINGTON, tapered coffin handle, hallmarked "AYRES & HAYDON", period "T" monogram on front, contemporary monogram and date on reverse. 6 troy oz. First quarter 19th century. 14 1/4" long

Provenance: Descended in a Staunton, VA family
Note: According to Boultinghouse, Ayres & Haydon advertised February 28, 1811, that they had moved opposite Postlewaite's Tavern, Lexington. The short-lived partnership was dissolved by May 29, 1813, when ads for "Ayres & Hiter" appeared in the Lexington {{Reporter}}. Ayres was also a respected Lexington clockmaker
