Reference: Roughly a month after this cup was presented to the Germantown Blues, the regiment played an important role in bringing the Great Southwark (Philadelphia) Riots to an end. The event began on July 5, and before the ethnic disturbance was quelled, fourteen were killed (including two members of the Blues) and fifty were wounded. Major P. R.
