PAINTED TRAVELLING TRUNK.
English or American, mid 19th century, pine. Nailed construction, retaining its original blue-green paint with "Mary Sweeney Boston." in white. Imperfections. 14 1/2"h. 25"w. 15 1/2"d. Ex Ken and Ida Manko (Pennsylvania).

Genealogical research identified several Mary Sweeneys in Boston during this time period, including some who were born in England.

Condition: Varnish has darkened and yellowed, original strap hinges, but they've broken and been rescrewed; left and back edges of the lid are restored, other minor wear and losses.
