DECORATED HATCHEL.
Nineteenth century, appears to be beech. Central flax comb mounted on an oblong board with cut-out handles and retaining its original painted decoration including pinwheels. Minor imperfections. 27"l. Ex H. George Bickelmann Antiques (Michigan).

Condition: Expected wear, bends to the points on the comb, minor insect damage. There are three extra holes on the underside--either the comb has been reattached or it had three extra nails that are now gone.
